2024 Fall Luncheon
2024 Fall Luncheon
Clean Air Force held its Fall AQPF luncheon on Thursday, October 10th. The luncheon was held on the beautiful campus of National Instruments located just off of MOPAC. Sarah Chambliss, Postdoctoral Fellow at Dell Medical School gave the presentation. Dr. Chambliss is a research associate in the Dell Medical School Department of Population Health. She earned her doctorate in civil and environmental engineering at UT’s Cockrell School of Engineering, specializing in urban air quality with a focus on the drivers of neighborhood-scale pollution gradients and their implications for exposure and environmental justice. Her recent work, published in a leading respiratory health journal, investigates connections between and within-city air pollution patterns and local disparity in asthma morbidity.
For our luncheon, Dr. Chambliss gave a presentation on “Local health inequities tied to air pollution in Austin”. She touched on areas such as “What is the role of air pollution?” and “How is asthma linked to outdoor air pollution in Austin?” just to name a couple of topics. Her presentation was interesting, enlightening, and relevant when you consider the environment we live in today. The audience enjoyed Dr. Chambliss’ presentation as evidenced by the multiple positive comments I’ve received. We hope to have her present again in the future.
Many thanks National Instruments for hosting the event and to Sarah for an outstanding presentation!
