2025 Winter Luncheon
2025 Winter Luncheon
Clean Air Force held its AQPF 2025 winter meeting on Thursday, January 16th. The luncheon was held at the Capitol Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) campus located just off Burleson Road. Kristen Brown, Assistant Professor at University of Texas-San Antonio gave the presentation. Dr. Brown is an Assistant Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Division. Dr. Brown earned her PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her research focuses on policy relevant solutions to atmospheric hazards, particularly those related to energy systems. Her previous experience in national level environmental policy working at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provides insight into evaluating actionable solutions.
For our luncheon, Dr. Brown gave a presentation on “Atmospheric Air Quality Variability in San Antonio.” She touched on areas such as “the changing air quality in the region” and “how Central Texas is starting to show up on the NAAQS non-attainment maps” just to name a couple of topics. Her presentation was interesting and very relevant when you consider the environment we live in today. The audience enjoyed Dr. Brown’s presentation as evidenced by the multiple questions that she received and positive comments I heard from our members after the meeting. We hope to have her present again in the future.
Many thanks to our friends at CAPCOG for hosting the event and to Kristen for an outstanding presentation!
