Central Texas’ Ozone Advance Program – Ozone Advance is a voluntary program developed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to promote local actions to help keep nonattainment areas in compliance with the federal ozone standard. The 5-county Central Texas region was accepted into the program by EPA on May 23, 2012. This plan replaced the 8-Hour O3 Flex Agreement with EPA which expired December 31, 2013. Participation in this program provides an opportunity for our region to work with EPA to evaluate, select and implement control measures and programs that may be used to help keep our air clean. More information on the program can be found on the EPA website at https://www.epa.gov/advance.
